"We are bringing the Garrett House to life again. We are opening its doors for the first gallery show," saysGarrett House Curator Brooke Foy.

Foy wants to make a powerful impact for the premiere show in The Garrett House.  The artwork showcased is from a New Orleans resident commemorating the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

The crawl also celebrates the 25th anniversary for The River Gallery.  Charlie Heck, artist member of The River Gallery, says he's proud of the success and support of the co-op.

"We are the oldest co-operative in Louisiana right now. We as a gallery couldn't have lasted that long without the support of the folks that listen to these broadcasts," said Heck.

The River Art Gallery co-ops began in 1990. The River Art Gallery will also be showcasing art collections by various local artists.   Heck says a special reception is at 6 p.m. with a cake-cutting in honor of the occasion.
