Longtime politician and New Orleans councilmember Jackie Clarkson died in June at the age of 88. The Algiers native was known for her commitment to public safety, historic preservation, and the city's arts organizations. Speaking with the Historic New Orleans Collection in 2014, Clarkson reflected on her long career, highlighting two priorities that constituted an ongoing family legacy. She's the subject of this edition of NOLA Life Stories.
