Windell Curole On His Deep Roots In Lafourche Parish

The Historic New Orleans Collection

Windell Curole was general manager of the South Lafourche Levee District for over 40 years. Due to his leadership following Katrina, south Lafourche Parish did not flood even after a direct hit from Hurricane Ida. Curole, a lifelong resident of Lafourche Parish, spoke with the Historic New Orleans Collection about his deep roots down the bayou and his childhood spent surrounded by water. He's the subject of this edition of NOLA Life Stories.
