Sync Up Conference Brings Conversations About Music Industry Business To Jazz Fest

image001.jpg

Each year on most mornings of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the Sync Up conference brings together leaders in music, film and digital media for educational and networking events to help independent artists navigate the changing landscape of new media.

WWNO's Paul Maassen spoke with Scot Aiges, ‎Director of Programs, Marketing & Communications at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, about this free gathering, now in it's 9th year.

Paul arrived at WWNO as general manager in March 2008. Since his arrival, Paul has strengthened the station’s finances, introduced new national news and information programs, revamped the digital WWNO2 schedule to complement 89.9, and launched digital WWNO3 as an all-jazz channel. He has placed new emphasis on WWNO’s role in the community, devoting resources to local news reporting and cultural features, and encouraging new collaborations among New Orleans’ cultural organizations and the region’s public media.
