Inside The Arts: Southern Rep’s City Series Returns, MASNO’s Keyboard Festival & Piano Institute

Southern Rep Theatre

This week on Inside the Arts, Southern Rep Theatre continues its City Series of plays. The summer offerings feature the regional premiere of playwright Nairoby Otero's one woman play, 'Til Sunday, which tackles immigration issues. That's followed by the world premiere of A Conjuring & Telling of Black Girl Magic, curated and directed by Constance Thompson. It celebrates the bonds of sisterhood. Nairoby Otero and Constance Thompson stop by for a chat.

And, top rising star pianists from around the globe head Uptown, as the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans (MASNO) kicks off its annual Keyboard Festival and Piano Institute. MASNO executive director Cara McCool Woolf joins us by phone.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.

"This is NPR's Morning Edition, at 89.9 WWNO. Good Morning, I'm Diane Mack."
