The 2015 Zurich Classic officially kicked off Monday at TPC Louisiana in Avondale.
Zurich Chief Executive Officer Martin Senn says the golf tournament the company has titled since 2005 has proven a good fit for its overall business plan.
“It makes us proud to see that we’ve been part of the rebuild of New Orleans, that we got closer and closer with the community — not just in New Orleans but in southern Louisiana. We see, obviously, that the Classic generates significant economic benefit for the greater New Orleans area: $40 million each year. We also feel very good that we are reaching over 100 local charities.”
The first round is scheduled to tee off at 7 a.m. Thursday. The Championship Round is set for Sunday.
