Bullet Hits School Bus, Flying Glass Scrapes Girl

New Orleans police say that when a man was shot in the Tremé neighborhood, a stray bullet hit a school bus where flying glass injured a girl.

Officer Frank Robinson says the man was shot in the hip and leg Monday afternoon. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials at O. Perry Walker Senior High School say one student was taken to a hospital as a precaution. A statement released Monday evening says she was released after treatment for a small abrasion from a chip of glass.

Police are asking anyone with information about what happened to call them or Crimestoppers.
