Over 90 percent of parents participating in the Louisiana Scholarship program are pleased with their child's scholarship school.

The program helps children from low-income families choose the school that best fits their needs. President of Louisiana Federation for Children Ann Duplessis says the program also benefits students' personal and social lives.

"It's something that we really pride ourselves in," Duplessis said.

Duplessis says the Federation has conducted previous surveys with similar results, proving how often parents give their opinions. About 92 percent of parents said they were thrilled to see how well their children are doing at the scholarship school.

Duplessis says this means the program is working.

"Families are pleased with the environment their kids are  in now and they are pleased with the ability to choose those environments," Duplessis said.

Duplessis says their are many ways to boost the program in the future. One includes teaching lawmakers the importance of keeping parents involved in their child's education.
