Dozens of people in bright orange shirts showed up at a public meeting last fall to show support for a proposed new Entergy power plant. Some of them were paid actors, according to a new report from The Lens.

In March, the New Orleans city council voted to approve a new gas-fired power plant for Entergy in New Orleans East. It was a controversial decision that came after heated public meetings. People showed up with signs to protest the plant, and others showed up to support it.

But a new investigation from The Lens revealed that some of power plant supporters were actually paid actors. WWNO’s Travis Lux spoke to reporter Michael Isaac Stein from The Lens about his investigation.
