Roy Wood Jr. is a comedian, actor, Emmy-nominated documentary producer and former correspondent on the Daily Show. In 2023, he headlined the White House Correspondents Dinner. He's also a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a big baseball fan – he even made it to Game 7 of the 2016 World Series to cheer for the Chicago Cubs. He also played high school baseball at Rickwood Field. Now he has the opportunity to tell this story of this legendary ballpark with a sense of familiarity, engagement and humor.

Alana Schreiber is the creator and executive producer of Road to Rickwood. She’s a lifelong baseball fan who’s been fascinated by the Negro Leagues ever since she did her fourth grade history project on Buck O’Neil. As an NPR reporter and producer, she’s sought out stories about the Negro Leagues all across the country – they’re never hard to find.

Ben Dickstein is a senior producer on the Road to Rickwood podcast and co-founder of Back Pocket Studios. He is a New York native – born in Brooklyn, raised on Long Island. He’s been a Yankee fan as long as he can remember, although his first baseball memory is of Roger Clemens throwing a shattered bat shard back at Mike Piazza, which didn’t paint his favorite team in the best light.

Kyley Pulphus is a mama, educator, and writer from New Orleans. She is also a doctoral candidate pursuing her PhD in Literacy Education with a minor in Writing Pedagogy. Kyley's research centers on the effective and pro-human practices that create affirming and powerful reading and writing environments. Kyley is the founder of We Scribblin', a literacy education consulting practice. Her expertise has been sought by organizations supporting millions of children, parents, and teachers across the U.S. Kyley's favorite picture book is Layla's Happiness by Mariahadessa Ekere Tallie. If Kyley were to write Kyley’s Happiness, she’d include eating ice cream, listening to brass band music, and spending time with her two favorite people: her daughter and loving partner.
